It is generally agreed that the treatment of pressure sores should include the removal of bony prominence and sufficient padding by use of local skin flaps, muscle flaps covered with split thickness skin grafts and musculocutaneous flaps.
In some paraplegics who have pyarthrosis of the hip, osteomylitis of the femur and multiple pressure sores, there are many difficult problems that the extensive ulcers are not amenable to conventional procedures.
This is the report fo two paraplegic with pyarthrosis, dislocation of the hip and osteomyelitis of the femur caused by the extension of infection from a trochanteric pressure sore. They also have a sacral sores. In this report, we describes the successful use of two total thigh flaps with review of literatures.
